Tips and advice

So you’ve decided you like what you see and there may be a job that suits you? Or maybe you want to send us your CV and other details in case something comes up? In that case, you need to send us an application. The information below provides some hints on how best to apply, and what we really want to know about you.

Cover letter

Your cover letter is the first thing we see. So take advantage of this opportunity to show us that you, of all the applicants who will be applying, are the right candidate for the position. Intrigue us. In doing so, try to answer the following questions:

  • Why do you want to work for us?
  • Why are you the candidate we want for this particular job?
  • What do you expect from the job? and from us?

Please draft the letter yourself and make sure it’s no longer than one page Since you are promoting yourself here, you shouldn’t be too modest, but don’t exaggerate either. If you strike a balance between the two, you will generally make a good impression. Also, please keep in mind that – although it is an electronic document – you should still sign it.

Don’t worry about writing to a particular person in the cover letter. “Dear Sir, Madam” will do just fine.

CV in tabular form

A good CV is characterised by a structured, clearly laid out and preferably complete presentation of your career. The CV is usually written in tabular form and should summarise the most important stages in your education or career path. Don’t worry too much about the chronological order. You could start with your education and end with your current position, or vice versa. Make sure you mention your language skills, additional knowledge, outside activities, hobbies, etc. at the end of the CV. There are plenty of good websites online that can help you create a powerful CV.

Proof of employment

Please include copies of relevant credentials with your application, such as job references, school-leaving certificate and other evaluations.

Online applications – are very welcome!

We welcome online or email applications since we can process them faster and you will get an response promptly.

You could scan your documents and attach them as files to your application in PDF format. Please send us only one PDF document per application, if possible. The size of your documents should not exceed 5 MB.

Once you’ve created your document, send it to jobs@sysmex-mea.com. If you have any questions regarding one of our job openings, please feel free to call us on +49 (0)40 / 534 102 296.

Give us some time to process your application. We will get back to you as soon as possible with information on the status of your application.

Should I prepare for an upcoming job interview?

Yes! Don’t worry about it too much – it’s not a test about Sysmex – but it would be good if you had some understanding of who we are and what we do. Before the meeting, take a good look at our website and any other sources you can find to get to know Sysmex and the relevant job specifications. It will put both you and us in the position to conduct the interview with clear objectives.

In the end though, it is about getting to know you better and seeing whether there is a mutual interest. The interview is important for answering any open questions we have about you, and giving you the chance to answer any queries you have about us or the job. It should be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved and help us understand whether we have a future together!
